Life is an extraordinary journey. From inception Auxins-Social Mobility set out to work with the youth of today in an innovative fashion by using surplus profits to create enterprises for our core beneficiaries. Throughout Our journey there has been many lessons learned, this is an ongoing work in progress, aptly named Academy 17 themed on the age of transition, our shop based in Royal Borough of Greenwich, Eltham High Street was created with and by students through design, paid work or other contributing time and effort that allowed for projects to facilitate further students to gain vocational and technical skills they may not have acquired elsewhere.
Our students have done so in knowing that they would be exchanging their time for added value to their own personal journey to develop tangible life-long skills and customer facing experiences gained during their course with our company and to acquire the specialist expertise we deliver by working in bespoke partnership with host educational institutions and businesses that provide qualifications and employment opportunities.
We continue to develop within a unique marketplace that works alongside a range of suppliers, professionals and industry experts that know Products, Goods and Services. They and we are passionate about learning, education and passing on that vital industry knowledge in an organised permission in order to empower and further educate young people, enhance social mobility and create lasting partnerships, healthy minds, leaders and jobs that benefit the immediate socio-economic state and wider community at large.
At Academy 17 students have participated from the outset of obtaining the location to fitting out the premises, painting the walls, acquiring equipment and choosing the best suppliers. Our main core of employees has been students that have on boarded one of our platforms to which we have supported with transition.
Our cafe is a commercial, professional and educational setting where customers can enjoy high quality products in a friendly environment in situ with learned students and trained staff facilitating their experience. We cater to all in the community and afar with local and international knowledge at our disposal.

Our training services have historically acted as an extension to academic and mainstream provision. In some cases we have served as a specialist alternative provision, graduates host for individuals entering a professional working corporate career for the first time.
Our aim is to not only develop, but provide much needed life skills, resilience building and confidence mainstay to enable our alumni to acquire paid work or careers whilst or post experience with us.

We began in 2017 with the aim to support young people and provide tangible skills and qualified advice to enable and empower those who seek our services, remove barriers through designing projects with young people at the core of any decision making.
We are a technical-vocational Social Enterprise recognised by Social Enterprise UK and member of Business in the Community arc programme, A Disability Confident Committed employer who closely follows the paradigm of socio-economic mobility development. The company has historically delivered a Young Farmers Club facilitating 34 young people 14-19 years, delivered Supported Internship and Traineeships Programmes for individuals post-sixteen years old, with SEN (Special Educational Needs) and engages in a number of fellow activities.
Auxins-Social Mobility established Academy 17 in 2019as an outlet shop to work with and facilitate Schools, Colleges and Universities, Community and Corporate business in various partner capacities, provide valuable professional and life experience consultancy, regularly host students as part of their enrichment in developing transition resilience and capability. We aim to raise aspirations and assist in progressing and towards and brokering paid employment, In addition, 1:1 support and volunteers to assist where needed in the smooth transition between education and paid work where applicable, independence and healthy living in your community by way of preparing for adulthood.
Located in The Royal London Borough of Greenwich AC17 is a Coffee Shop and Creative space hosting programmes, facilitating community engagement and providing training, courses, workshops and transition programmes. All staff and volunteers are DBS checked and subject to our internal and partner policies and procedures, we are also covered with PLI.
